PSP 1000: Hardware 101

I got this unit as it is. Many of you may wonder why would i buy an item is such condition. I have one reason for you; i.e. to learn how to replace PSP’s casing.

Below are the issues:

  • UMD drive/lens not tested.
  • Wifi card/board not tested.
  • TA-079 motherboard still working but have a damaged LCD Flex connector/lock.
  • Broken casing and incomplete screws
  • LCD backlight won’t lit. I also trimmed the end of the flex.
  • 1800mA Battery is still in perfect working condition and still lasts for more than 4hrs. Aside from this, this battery is original and you can convert it into Pandora Battery.
  • I am having intermittent problem with the 2Gb Memory Stick Pro Duo (MSPD). It doen’t work on other units.
  • Buttons and Analog stick are working but not recommended for salvage.
  • Plates are still in good condition.

There are still several parts that can be used as spare but this unit is no longer economical to repair. This is best for those who are looking for something to thinker.

Interested? Let me know.
